The Jewelry from Mark aka "Bear-Buffalo" Silver Designs represents the art and culture of the American Indian or Native Americans, as one prefers. A vibrant artistic culture the Navajo, Zuni, Hopi began to express their art in silver in the middle of the 19th century and this art has continued today and is still in demand.
Though not Native American himself, Marks wife can trace her family genealogy back to the Northeast Woodlands people and helps with design ideas that are incorporated into his jewelry. Though primarily Native American in style Mark also produces Judaic style jewelry and silver designs, a self expressed style called " Picadilly-Silver" a blend of styles that orginated from the use of left over silver and designed to allow the wearer a whimisical accurtrament to ones wardrobe.
All of Marks silver jewelry is handcrafted including 95% of all the findings used in the finished product. He uses only fine and sterling silver, NO Mexican, German, or India silver that contains far less than 92.5% found in quality jewelry. German Silver is generally nickel silver or just nickle, Mexican silver is nickle silver or about 70% silver, and India Silver is generally a combination of Silver an nickel.
